Milling machine working principle
Dec 21, 2018

The general milling machine consists of an engine, a frame, a milling rotor, a milling depth adjustment device, a hydraulic component, an aggregate conveying device, a steering system, and a brake system.

The milling rotor is the main working part of the milling machine. It consists of the milling rotor shaft, the tool holder and the cutter head. It is directly in contact with the road surface and works by its high-speed rotating milling cutter to achieve the purpose of milling. The milling machine is provided with an automatic leveling device for milling the rotor side cover as a milling reference surface and controlling two positioning hydraulic cylinders to keep the given milling depth constant;

The hydraulic system is used to drive the rotation of the milling rotor, the walking of the whole machine, the operation of the auxiliary device, etc., and is generally a closed hydraulic system in which the multiple pumps are independent of each other, and does not interfere with each other during operation and has high reliability;

Some milling machines are equipped with tilt adjusters to control the inclination of the rotor. Generally, large milling machines have a conveyor conveyor consisting of a conveyor belt and an aggregate, which concentrates the milled bulk material and It is sent to the carrier car that is walking randomly. The height of the transport arm can be adjusted and can be swung left and right to adjust the discharge position.

When the specifications and models of the milling machine are different, the structure and arrangement are slightly different, but the basic working principle is the same or similar. The route of the milling machine power transmission: engine → hydraulic pump → hydraulic motor, hydraulic cylinder → working device.
